Job purpose

** Fixed Term 12 months** To mobilise a team and deliver hard facility management services at the Enniskillen Hospital (Northern Ireland) up until handover and including the settling in period of the TUPE transferring staff. Ensure the required level of performance is achieved and maintained and that budgets are adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership during the mobilisation phases of the contract including recruitment and training of the IFM team and development of the relationship with clients and customers.
  • Understand the Contract and provide guidance and direction to ensure that the services are delivered to the required PMS standards.
  • Establish and maintain responsive communication with client and customer representatives.
  • Ensure that staff are fully trained and prepared to carry out their work and are familiar with the new building.
  • Provide leadership in awareness and responsiveness to Health and Safety issues.
  • Demonstrate a clear and effective alignment with the operational objectives and the commercial interests of IFM.
  • Review O&M information and collate the asset register for the new Hospital site.
  • Work on-call as part of a rota to provide engineering and Authorised Person support to the site as needed during the mobilisation.
  • Undertake inspections and snagging.
  • Monitor the construction activities on behalf of Interserve Support Services to ensure that FM services can be delivered at minimum risk, efficiently and effectively. Where required, escalate issues using the most appropriate mechanisms.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested by management.
  • It should be noted that this role will report to the IFM Design Manager initially but is likely to report to the General Manager at some stage.
  • Ensure that company and local briefing material is cascaded to all staff.
  • Regularly meet, guide and develop direct reports .
  • Represent the IFM in meetings with clients and customers.
  • This is a senior role but consultation with the HR department and line manager is necessary on any disciplinary or grievance issue which could lead to action being taken.
  • Should meet line manager on a regular basis to monitor financial and operational progress.

Knowledge skills & experience

  • Engineering degree or formal apprenticeship within relevant discipline.
  • HV Authorised.
  • Med Gas Authorised.
  • Hard services experience within large organisation.
  • Managing large groups of staff.
  • Extensive experience in similar role, having been responsible for a variety of clients and contracts.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to analyse options and clearly present conclusions.
  • Empathetic approach as there will be an occasional requirement to deliver sensitive messages. Due to the nature of the working environment you may come face to face with distressing situations.
